Internet Connection:

CRM2Word requires an internet connection for registration and licence validation. IF CRM2WORD IS UNABLE TO CONNECT TO THE INTERNET REGULARLY, IT MAY STOP WORKING.

Software Requirements:

Running Setup.exe will determine whether additional files or programs are required.  The installation will install the following programs if they are missing.

Essential

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 (SP1) - download here
  • Microsoft Office 2007
  • Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7
  • Windows Installer v3.1 or higher (this is included with most Windows installations)
  • 2007 Microsoft Office system Primary Interop Assemblies (PIA) redistributable - download here or run the o2007.msi file in the downloaded zip.

Recommended

  • Service Pack 2 for Microsoft Office 2007

The following essential prerequisites can be downloaded automatically during installation:

  • Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office system (version 3.0 Runtime)
  • Microsoft Visual Studio Tools for the Microsoft Office System (version 3.0 Runtime) Service Pack 1

Installation

Note: Administrative rights are required for installation.

  1. Download the zip file to your desktop
  2. Extract the contents to your desktop
  3. Run the Setup.exe file
  4. Follow on screen instructions to download and install prerequisites as required
  5. When you start Word, the Office Customization Installer window will appear briefly and you will be shown a dialog box confirming that the publisher is genuine and the certificate valid
  6. Click OK to continue

Notes for System Administrators

The downloaded zip file contains four files:

  • Setup.exe - bootstrapper application to download prerequisites
  • CRM2Word.msi - Windows installer package
  • ReadMe.txt – a text file containing important information about installation, requirements and support
  • o2007pia.msi - 2007 Microsoft Office system Primary Interop Assemblies (PIA) redistributable installer

The MSI installs the following files to the selected installation folder:

  • CRM2Word.dll.manifest - application manifest
  • CRM2Word.vsto - ClickOnce deployment manifest
  • CRM2Word.dll - managed code library created using VSTO
  • CRM2WordInstaller1.dll - managed code library containing installation custom actions creating registry entries required by Office and for product registration
